Edward C. Doerr, a May 2007 graduate of New York University, has been a writer since the world-weary age of nine, when he penned his first book. That this tale was a Michael Crichton rip-off is inconsequential. It paved the road for Doerr, who made his passion for writing manifest. Hardcore collectors will find it difficult to track down these lost texts from his "early years", as he has the only copies in existence.
His first published story, "Fran's Necklace", found a home in the launch issue of Cosmopsis in May 2007. It tells the story of man trying to reconnect with his wife, the only catch being an issue of communication stands between them. The second piece published was one called "Subway." It tells the story of a man whose otherwise mundance subway ride home is shattered by the presence of a green-eyed, red-haired stranger, who may or may not be supernatural. The webzine Bewildering Stories featured it in Issue 262, in the Fall of 2007. Still waitig for an official publication date from Tabloid Purposes IV is his third story, one called "Clean Break." This piece is a gothic horror story, telling the macabre tale of a man who vows to erase his romanic pasts by systematically eliminating his ex-girlfriends.
Currently, Ed is working on a number of short stories (and the occasional poem). Most importantly, however, he is working on a currently untitled young adult novel and is a member of The Ace Nobodies with his cousin and brother-in-law, where the three young gentlemen craft humorous short films.
